No matter how you say it, we would like to convey our sincere appreciation to you, our volunteers!

On June 23rd, Sea World's Nautilus Pavilion housed hundreds of Junior Achievement volunteers and supporters.

This special annual event was our way of saying thank you for being a part of bringing Junior Achievement's financial responsibility programs to San Diego students. We are so grateful for the impact you have made this school year, and possibly in the lifelong financial choices of your students.

In 2009-2010, Junior Achievement San Diego reached over 40,000 Kindergarten to twelfth-graders, in classrooms throughout San Diego and Imperial Valley, and we could not have done it without your dedication and commitment.

At the event, we recognized the men and women who have gone above and beyond this year:

  • Company Coordinator of the Year: Linda O'Connell, Union Bank
  • Teacher of the Year-In Class: Tom Vanderhyde, West Hills High School
  • Teacher of the Year-BizTown: Rhonda Wood, Extended School Services, La Mesa/Spring Valley School District
  • Volunteer of the Year-North County: James Pantera, PhotonDream, Inc.
  • Volunteer of the Year-Central: Lauryn Rice, Bay Park Elementary PTA
  • Volunteer of the Year-South/East: Jennifer Cortez, Rancho Del Rey Middle School
  • Volunteer of the Year-BizTown: Vern Halverson, Community Volunteer

Thank you once again to everyone that made this year possible, with big thank you's to our Title Sponsor Jack in the Box and to SeaWorld for the wonderful venue.
