Schedule the Right JA Programs For Your School
Traditional In-Class JA Programs
A volunteer from your community will be matched with your class and they will come to your class once per week for 5-7 weeks, depending on grade level:
- 5 lessons for Elementary (K-5)
- 6 lessons for Middle (6, 7, 8)
- 7 lessons for High School (9-12)
Each elementary class is 45 minutes, and high school lessons are generally an hour.
See the complete Curriculum for K-12 and how the JA programs match up with CA STAR standards.
BizTown Program
As a 5th Grade teacher, you may be interested in our 5th Grade Capstone Program: BizTown. The 5-week BizTown curriculum is taught in-class by teachers, and then culminates in a day-long fieldtrip at the JA facility in Misison Valley.

JA Day Option
JA in a Day is a half-day program in which multiple volunteers visit a school on the same day and every class each class participating in JA that day dedicates their morning sessions to the JA program for their grade level.
The in-class program is normally spread over five sessions weeks. But on a JA Day, the volunteer teaches all five of the curriculum lessons in one morning.
