Frightening Fact? Many Millennials Plan to Spend More than $70 on Halloween
Generation known for frugality spending more this year on popular holiday activities
Younger teens ages 13-17 indicated they would likely spend $58.49 this Halloween. When askedhow they plan to spend Halloween, "hanging out with friends" was the top response, from 54 percent of young adults age 18 or older and from 55 percent of teens 13-17. Nearly four-in-ten teens (38 percent) ages 13-17 said they planned to go trick or treating, compared to 21 percent of those ages 18-30.
"We at Junior Achievement wish our young people a safe and enjoyable Halloween," said Marla Black, president and chief executive officer at JA of San Diego. "We hope while they're out enjoying the holiday, they don't break the bank while trying to bewitch their friends."
