Junior Achievement Raises $246K at 25th Business Hall of Fame, Inducts Four Laureates

The guests contribute more than $50K at the live auction 

Last Friday, Junior Achievement of San Diego County celebrated 25 years of its annual San Diego Business Hall of Fame at the Hotel del Coronado.

Current and past laureates honored since the event inception in 1986 joined the guests to raise more than $246,000 to fund Junior Achievement programs. The attendees contributed more than $50,000 at the live auction featuring items such as Rancho La Puerta vacation stay and a visit to Jack in the Box commercial.

This year, the nonprofit inducted four laureates:

  • Rhonda Barno as The Teacher of the Year
  • Lowell Fix  as The Rookie Volunteer of the Year
  • Steve Oberman as The Volunteer of the Year

The event also paid tribute to the late Hall of Fame laureates Duane Roth, Murray Galinson and Pat Hyndman.
