Junior Achievement to Honor Four Business Leaders at Its Annual Fundraising Gala

The nonprofit will celebrate the event’s 25th anniversary at Hotel Del Coronado

On Friday, Nov. 8, Junior Achievement (JA) of San Diego County will hold the 25th San Diego Business Hall of Fame presented by Jack in the Box Foundation—an inspiring evening that celebrates the accomplishments of remarkable individuals in San Diego’s business community.

Junior Achievement’s Hall of Fame lifetime laureates are exceptional role models and epitomize the lessons taught by JA’s financial literacy programs. This year, Junior Achievement will honor:

Dr. Ken Blanchard and Dr. Margie Blanchard are founders of The Ken Blanchard Companies, an international management training and consulting firm started in 1979 in San Diego, Calif.  Both are prominent authors, speakers, entrepreneurs and business consultants.

Thella Bowens serves as president/CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, the owner and operator of San Diego International Airport as of Jan. 1, 2003. Bowens manages the Authority, its operating and capital budgets, and nearly 360 employees. She also currently oversees the Authority’s terminal development program.

Greg Lucier is CEO of Life Technologies, a global life sciences leader committed to providing innovative products in the areas of scientific research, genetic analysis and applied sciences. Lucier applies more than 25 years of strategic management to shape an era of personalized medicine where researchers can efficiently read and write DNA for humanity’s benefit.
