LPL Volunteers Make An Impact

We are proud to partner with LPL Financial to bring the lessons of “JA Career Success” to 65 Hoover High seniors during a one-day interactive symposium this month.  The students worked closely with LPL professionals to explore various  career paths and to learn how to apply critical thinking skills during a job interview. The feedback from the students is very encouraging.

“This workshop gives me the opportunity to work with real business professionals and learn what interview skills I will need to secure a great career at a company like LPL," said Ruby Martinez, a 17-year old student at Hoover High.

Some highlights include working together in teams to create a “sky scraper” out of index cards and paper clips, and being put in the “hot seat” during mock job interviews.

“The Symposium allows our team to share life experiences and career advice with our future leaders,” said Sallie Larsen, Managing Director at LPL Financial.   “By working with Junior Achievement, our employees help students connect the importance of what they are learning in the classroom today to their future success.”
